A. O. Smith Corporation, a global leader in water heating and related products, is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable professional for a hybrid role in Ashland City, TN.

The position handles invoices, payments, reconciliations, and vendor communications to ensure accurate and timely processing. You will support collections, verify shipping and invoice details, and maintain strong vendor relationships while leveraging SAP and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or related preferred; additional experience in lieu of degree considered.
• 3+ years related work experience or training in accounting/bookkeeping
• Experience in Accounting and bookkeeping with focus on Accounts Receivable
• Excellent with Deduction Management/Payment Discrepancies
• Excellent reasoning skills
• SAP experience
• Quick learner, organized, detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Impeccable moral character and high ethical standards
• Excellent computer-based skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, performs duties in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
• Prepare bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment; research invoices, returns, and credits.
• Reconcile bills and discounts; maintain vendor files and follow up on discrepancies.
• Prepare checks for signature and communicate with vendors as needed.
• Assist in collections, shipping verification requests, and inquiries from buyers or sales/marketing.
• Match vendor name, PO number, quantity, and price on invoices to UVR data.
• Forward invoices to buyers for price approval or quantity corrections when discrepancies exist.
• Vouch invoices into accounting system when UVR and invoice match or approvals obtained.
• Assemble and scan vouched invoices to Division.
• Monitor discount opportunities and ensure credit for memos.
• Resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies; document resolutions.
• Submit sales tax exemption certificates to vendors to resolve tax issues.
