A.O. Smith is hiring for an Accounts Payable/Receivable role in Tennessee. Under supervision, you will process invoices, verify data, and maintain vendor records while ensuring timely payments and accurate reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in business or accounting, 3+ years in accounting, and experience with SAP and Excel. You will support multiple departments and help resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or related preferred; additional experience may substitute for degree.
• 3+ years related experience in accounting, payable/receivable roles.
• Experience in accounting and bookkeeping functions with emphasis on AR.
• SAP experience required.
• Strong Excel skills; proficient with worksheets and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and maintain attention to detail.
• Proven ethics and integrity in professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and/or accounts receivable tasks under supervision.
• Prepare bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment; research invoices, returns and credits.
• Reconcile discrepancies and maintain vendor files; monitor discount opportunities.
• Coordinate with buyers for price/quantity approvals and approvals as needed.
• Vouch invoices into the accounting system when matched with UVR or approved.
• Scan and file vouched invoices; assist divisions with documentation.
• Resolve tax issues by providing exemptions as required.
• Assist in collections, shipping verification, and inquiries from departments.
