Job summary

Kahana Feld seeks an Accounts Payable Manager in California to lead and develop the AP team, ensure accurate vendor invoices, timely payments, and proper general ledger coding. This hybrid role collaborates with attorneys and Finance to maintain strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in AP or accounting, ideally within a law firm or professional services, and experience with AP controls and the Aderant system.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounts payable or accounting experience, including leadership experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system, such as Aderant, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full AP cycle from invoice receipt to payment, coding, and record retention.
• Supervise and develop AP staff, set priorities and monitor performance.
• Coordinate client and matter expense recording with Billing for accurate cost recovery.
• Lead process improvements to increase payment accuracy and reduce cycle times.
