Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in student affairs, student development, counseling, higher education, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience providing academic advisement to undergraduate students.
• 2+ years of increasing responsibilities working with undergraduates in higher education.
• Strong communication skills to work with diverse students, families, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated collaboration with colleagues to meet student needs and department goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic counseling on curriculum, degree requirements, transfer credits, and graduation counseling.
• Monitor student progress and maintain academic records; assist with petitions.
• Advise individuals and groups; engage with parents, faculty, and campus partners as needed.
• Refer students to appropriate support services and coordinate with other offices.
• Interface with faculty, administrators, and students regarding academic progress and policies.
• Stay current on registration, degree requirements, and related procedures.
• Assist in planning program policies, advisement for internal transfers, emphases, and minors.
• Help design and deliver student programs, services and events.
• Support planning of student events such as orientation, scholarships, and awards.
• Supervise student workers and volunteers; develop their skills.
