USC Marshall School of Business

Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs

USC's Marshall School of Business is seeking an Academic Advisor to join our team. The Office of Undergraduate Advising and Student Affairs supports the education and development of undergraduate students in USC's Marshall School of Business by providing a broad array of academic support and student engagement programs and services, including: academic advisement; internal transfer admissions; new student orientation; scholarships, honors, and awards; and student organization support. • Interface with faculty, administrators, and students regarding policies and student academic progress.
  • Maintain currency on policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to registration, transfer credit evaluation, course and degree requirements, graduation requirements, petitions, and other student services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures such as grading policies, academic progress, mandatory student advisement, and advisement and admission for internal transfers, emphases, and minors.
  • Assess targeted student or group needs and recommend programs or services. Assist in the design and delivery of student programs, services and special events.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating student events and co-curricular programs such as commencement, new student welcome, orientation, academic information sessions, student support programs, student organizations, scholarships, and award ceremonies.
  • Interface with faculty and staff to exchange and update information or to enlist support for program services.
  • Assist in planning and administering special programs such as faculty advisor programs, peer tutorial or mentor groups, student organizations, and honors programs.
  • Assist in providing leadership, guidance and supervision to student workers, volunteers and/or graduate assistants. Assist them in developing skills through the planning and coordination of services and activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
