Job summary

Northeastern University is seeking a Nursing Academic Coach for the ABSN program. This full-time RN will provide individualized and group tutoring, help students build clinical reasoning, and support diverse learners in a fast-paced academic setting.

Responsibilities include developing study plans, teaching exam strategies, and collaborating with faculty to monitor progress and intervene as needed. Hybrid work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in state
• BSN from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program
• Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience in acute care or specialty practice
• Expertise in nursing fundamentals, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical reasoning
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Experience with adult learners and diverse student populations
• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring for ABSN students across nursing courses
• Develop individualized study plans and teach effective study strategies
• Support development of clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills
• Create a collaborative tutoring environment to help students meet potential
• Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions and monitor progress
• Collaborate with faculty on at-risk students and intervention strategies
• Contribute to program assessment and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Engage with academic advisors and program leadership as needed
