JOB SUMMARY
The School of Nursing at Northeastern University seeks a dedicatedand experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a full-time NursingAcademic Coach for our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing(ABSN) program. This position provides individualized and groupacademic support to students in our intensive accelerated nursingcurriculum, helping them achieve academic success and developstrong clinical reasoning skills. The ideal candidate will have apassion for nursing education, strong clinical knowledge acrossmultiple content areas, and the ability to support diverse learnersin a fast-paced academic environment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensein [state]
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN orCCNE-accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in acute careor specialty practice
- Demonstrated expertise in nursing fundamentals, pharmacology,pathophysiology, and clinical reasoning
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complexconcepts clearly
- Experience working with adult learners and diverse studentpopulations
- Proficiency with learning management systems and educationaltechnology
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsas needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher degree
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or precepting experience in nursingeducation
- Experience with accelerated or second-degree nursingprograms
- Clinical experience in multiple specialties (medical-surgical,critical care, pediatrics, maternal health, mental health)
- Knowledge of NCLEX-RN examination content and test-takingstrategies
- Certification in a nursing specialty area
- Experience with diverse teaching modalities includingsimulation and case-based learning
Work Schedule & Environment
- Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, 12 months peryear
- Schedule includes daytime hours with flexibility for eveningand weekend sessions based on student needs
- Hybrid work model may be available with combination ofon-campus and virtual tutoring
- Peak demand periods coincide with examination schedules andend-of-semester periods
- Work environment includes individual and group tutoring spaces,computer lab access, and virtual platforms
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods during tutoringsessions
- Ability to use computer and educational technology for extendedperiods
- Occasional standing for group tutoring sessions orworkshops
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and via technologyplatforms
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Academic Support & Tutoring 55%
- Create a collaborative environment that provides opportunitiesfor nursing students to thrive and meet full potential
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for ABSNstudents across all nursing courses
- Assist students in understanding complex nursing concepts,pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical applications
- Develop and implement individualized study plans for studentsrequiring additional academic support
- Teach effective study strategies, time management skills, andtest-taking techniques specific to nursing examinations
- Support students in developing clinical reasoning and criticalthinking skills
Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring 20%
- Assess individual student learning needs and identify knowledgegaps
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records oftutoring sessions
- Collaborate with faculty to identify at-risk students anddevelop intervention strategies
- Provide regular feedback to students, faculty, and programleadership regarding student progress
- Participate in academic success meetings and remediationplanning
Resource Development 15%
- Create supplemental learning materials including study guides,practice questions, and concept maps
- Develop and maintain a library of tutoring resources alignedwith course content
- Design interactive learning activities to reinforce difficultconcepts
- Utilize technology and educational platforms to enhance studentlearning
- Stay current with NCLEX-RN test plan and integrate relevantcontent into tutoring sessions
Program Collaboration 5%
- Work closely with ABSN faculty to align tutoring services withcourse objectives and curriculum
- Attend faculty meetings and program planning sessions asappropriate
- Participate in program assessment and continuous qualityimprovement initiatives
- Collaborate with academic advisors, student services, and othersupport staff
- Contribute to retention and student success initiatives
Professional Development 5%
- Maintain current nursing licensure and complete requiredcontinuing education
- Stay current with evidence-based nursing practice andeducational best practices
- Participate in professional development activities related tonursing education
- Engage in scholarship of teaching and learning asappropriate
