Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a Pre-Apprentice HVAC technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical HVAC systems.

You will ensure proper documentation and provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. Under the local union agreement, pre-apprentices will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service, with opportunities to upsell and provide quotes

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of mechanical experience is a plus.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and servicing of mechanical HVAC systems.
• Complete project and service documentation.
• Provide high level service to resolve building inefficiencies and customer issues.
• Offer solutions and recommended actions at the time of service.
• Perform routine service tasks such as changing filters, oiling, and belt adjustments.
• Clean and inspect cooling towers, coils, and related equipment.
• Assist with indoor air quality tasks including ductwork and drains.

**The ideal candidate will be located in the Wausau, WI area, within a one-hour driving distance**

What youwill do:

Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems. Properly completes required project and service documentation.Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolveservice-relateditems. As a trusted advisor to ourcustomers,you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

Howyou willdo it:

Pre-Apprentices are governed by the local unionagreement,and they will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under this Agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer.

Provide recommendations and solutions to ensurefacilityis running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment being inspected or serviced, where this work is done as a periodic and routine procedure by the Employer, such as:

• Change and service filters
• Oiling and greasing
• Adjust or replace belts
• Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and general housekeeping
• Mechanical systems operation under contract with customer
• Cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment
• Indoor Air Quality related work including duct systems and drain pans

Pay Range: $24.87 hourly ratedeterminedby the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
