Bedford County Schools seeks a Maintenance Technician II - HVAC to install, modify, maintain and repair mechanical systems in school facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with codes. The role covers boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and ductwork within campus buildings.

You will diagnose problems, monitor building automation systems, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of advanced skilled trades experience required.
• Master or Journeyman's license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire).
• EPA approved refrigerant certification, ability to interpret blueprints and equipment schematics, electrical license and experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team.

Responsabilités

• Performs maintenance and repair work on school buildings, facilities, and structures; ensures safety, aesthetics, proper functioning and operations, and compliance with codes and practices.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, package units, split systems and heat pumps; repairs ductwork.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, tests, and adjusts a variety of HVAC systems.
• Monitors building automation systems and adjusts to improve HVAC performance; identifies needed repairs or replacements.
• Performs preventive maintenance tests and monitors space temperatures and humidity levels.
• Operates hand tools, power equipment, and maintains inventory of supplies; responds to emergency calls.
• Works with work order system to complete tasks.
