Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain building systems. You will read blueprints, supervise on-site staff, and manage preventive maintenance for schools across a geographic zone.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of common trade practices, tools, safety precautions.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate projects, determine scope, estimate material and personnel requirements.
• Inspect contractor work and advise in quality and compliance.
• Manage maintenance for assigned schools/facilities via work orders and preventive tasks.
• Read plans and determine job requirements; supervise trades on site.
• Operate a work truck and oversee accompanying personnel.
• Maintain accurate work orders and parts inventory; ensure safety.
• Coordinate with vendors for parts, warranties and service."
