Job summary

Martin County Schools maintains and operates heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across its facilities. The HVAC Mechanic II role performs installation, maintenance and repair work with a focus on efficiency and safety.

The position requires substantial HVAC knowledge, the ability to read blueprints, and adherence to district policies. With five years of related experience preferred and required EPA certification and a valid NC driver license, the successful candidate will work

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalency.
• At least five years of experience in installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
• Valid HVAC Journeyman’s card and EPA certification.
• Valid North Carolina Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Follows rules and procedures of Martin County Schools and the Maintenance Department.
• Performs skilled work and extensive knowledge in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair.
• Installs and understands HVAC equipment and systems throughout the school system.
• Maintains and repairs varied HVAC equipment and systems.
• Installs conduit and wiring for building automation system controls.
• Inspects and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment.
• Plans replacement of HVAC equipment and performs routine service.
