Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Supervisor to develop and oversee a comprehensive HVAC maintenance and repair program across the facility. You will supervise related construction and renovation projects, establish on-call procedures for emergencies, and determine and justify equipment needs.

EPA 608 Type II or universal certification is required within six months of hire, with high school diploma as a baseline. Possible overtime and 24-hour emergency coverage are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with HVAC installation/maintenance experience.
• EPA 608 Type II or universal certification required within six months of hire.
• HVAC/building control systems experience preferred.
• Knowledge of supplies/equipment requirements and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC maintenance and repair program for the facility.
• Supervise and complete HVAC maintenance, construction, and renovation projects.
• Establish on-call procedures for emergency maintenance and ensure timely work.
• Determine requirements for HVAC supplies and equipment.
• Prepare justifications and submit purchase requisitions.
• Stay updated on HVAC/refrigeration techniques and equipment.
• Assist in procurement and installation supervision of new equipment.
• Overtime, on-call rotation, and 24-hour emergency response may be required.
• Leverage general maintenance experience in daily operations.
