Job summary

SSC Services for Education, a Compass Group USA company, is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician licensed under EPA 608 to service school facilities. The role supports a supervisor and crew, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The ideal candidate has 5 years in institutional maintenance, the required electrical/plumbing licenses, blueprint literacy, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting.
• Valid Journeyman Electrical, EPA refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber license.
• Experience with blueprints, schematics; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs a mixed workload of preventative maintenance and non-complex reactive repairs.
• Updates work statuses and documents tasks in the CMMS.
• Assists in determining manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC and related systems.
• Reports major problems to supervisor and foreman as appropriate.
• Constructs and maintains electrical and mechanical systems using tools.
• Reviews outside vendor projects and creates punch lists.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems.
• Supports project management activity as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and performs repairs as needed.
