Job summary

SSC Services for Education is hiring an HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance tasks across facilities. You will work under a Supervisor, Foreman, or Master Mechanic with responsibility for diagnosing complex problems and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.

Ideal candidates have a licensed trade (Journeyman Electrical or Plumber) or EPA refrigerant certification, plus experience with blueprints and a strong safety

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting.
• Journeyman Electrical License or EPA refrigerant certification or Journeyman Plumber License.
• Experience with blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Performs a mixed workload of preventative maintenance and non-complex repairs.
• Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS.
• Assists in determining manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs.
• Maintains and diagnoses HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Responds to emergency problems and performs repairs as needed.
• Maintains logs and PM work orders; ensures safety and clean work areas.
