Job summary

SSC Services for Education, part of Compass Group, is hiring an HVAC Maintenance Technician in Jasper County School District, Ridgeland, SC. The role involves performing skilled maintenance on HVAC and related building systems, with a focus on safety and reliability for educational facilities.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in institutional maintenance, holds a Journeyman Electrical or EPA refrigerant certification or Journeyman Plumber license, can read blueprints, and is able to lift

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• One of the following: Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License.
• Experience working with blueprints and schematics. Valid driver’s license.
• A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Performs a mixed workload of preventive maintenance and basic repairs.
• Updates work statuses and documents tasks in CMMS via a mobile device.
• Evaluates manpower, materials, and deadlines for jobs.
• Maintains and troubleshoots HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Responds to emergencies and completes PM work orders.
