Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in Colorado Springs seeks a supervisory role to lead System Operations technicians across the region. Under the System Operations General Manager, you will supervise field crews, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure safety, QA/QC, and on-time project delivery.

The role requires a HVAC journeyperson background with 4+ years, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to train and mentor future supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or apprenticeship in HVAC & refrigeration or similar technical program.
• Four+ years as a commercial HVAC Journeyperson Technician.
• Self-motivated, energetic, ambitious with a positive attitude.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and with other technicians/team members.
• Ability to use a personal computer.
• Occasional overtime and weekends will be required.
• Willingness to attend ACCO and Union training sessions (sponsorship for non-signatory applicants).
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license with MVR meeting ACCO standards.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and train new employees.
• Work in the field with assigned technicians on a routine basis.
• Hold monthly safety meetings and enforce safety guidelines and procedures.
• Answer technical questions from field mechanics, engineering, PM personnel.
• Conduct Site Safety Inspections on construction sites.
• Counsel technicians on customer relations or internal procedures.
• Balance workloads to maintain skill levels on jobs.
• Manage staffing and vacation requests to meet project obligations.
• Mentor and develop future supervisors to meet business needs.
• Coordinate with different departments within ACCO.
• Startup and functional testing of HVAC and plumbing equipment.
• Mechanical and plumbing system commissioning and testing.
• Complete startup and commissioning documentation.
• Assist Warranty Supervisor with technician assignments for warranty calls.
• Review startup reports and submit to admin staff.
• Read and interpret mechanical/plumbing prints and specs.
• Maintain daily activity documentation.
• Assist collaboration with team members and other trades.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule.
• Confirm QA/QC protocols are met.
• Attend job site meetings with GC/PM/GF.
• Implement Safety Department protocols and ACCO policies.
