Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in El Segundo, CA seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead service technicians across the region. You will be the primary customer contact when others are unavailable, ensure on-time completion of repairs, installations, and replacements, and backstop route mechanics and service sales staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or HVAC/R apprenticeship completion.
• 10+ years of HVAC-R service and repair experience.
• 3+ years Journeyman HVAC-R service experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to interact with customers.
• Able to use a personal computer.
• Willing to attend ACCO and Union training sessions.
• Able to lift 11–25 lbs and carry up to 33% of the time.
• Valid non-commercial driver's license with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and train new employees.
• Review and follow up on mechanics' work orders and tool purchases.
• Answer technical questions from field mechanics and Service Sales personnel.
• Balance workloads in routes to maintain appropriate skill levels.
• Manage on-call staffing and vacation requests.
• Serve as backup for on-call and weekend staffing shortages.
• Perform periodic quality control inspections at customer locations.
• Coordinate with System Operations to fulfill project and warranty obligations.
• Improve labor productivity through collaboration with other area Supervisors.
• Monitor productivity by approving non-billable labor.
• Monitor Weighted Average Cost of technicians in the area.
• Hold monthly safety meetings and enforce safety guidelines.
• Conduct Site Safety Inspections at customer locations.
• Counsel technicians on customer relations issues or procedures.
• Assist Dispatch in meeting response time promises.
• Maintain and safeguard the area tool inventory.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
