Job summary

HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician I to install and commission new HVAC systems, perform basic troubleshooting, and calibrate equipment for optimal performance. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and industry codes while supporting clients during the start-up phase.

You will document service activities, communicate clearly with customers, and collaborate with installation teams to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling) is required.
• NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start-up and calibration of newly installed HVAC equipment to manufacturer specs and local codes.
• Explain system operation and troubleshooting steps to customers and document service activities.
• Collaborate with installation teams and project managers to ensure on-time project completion.
• Follow safety guidelines and conduct safety checks to maintain a safe work environment.
• Shadow junior technicians and participate in on-the-job training as needed.
