HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician I to install and commission HVAC systems, perform basic troubleshooting, and ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently before clients take ownership.

The role emphasizes start-up testing, calibration, and collaboration with installation teams, with an emphasis on safety and precise documentation. Requires EPA 608 certification and at least one year of hands-on HVAC experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling) is required.
• NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, with a focus on system start-up, commissioning, or installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and calibration of HVAC equipment, including air conditioning and heating systems.
• Test HVAC units to confirm operation according to specs and codes.
• Explain system operation and maintenance procedures to customers.
• Document service activities and update system documentation for future reference.
• Collaborate with installation teams and customer service to meet project timelines.
