HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician I to install and commission HVAC systems, perform basic troubleshooting, and calibrate equipment for optimal operation. You will ensure safety and code compliance as part of the start-up process before clients take full possession of their systems.

The role emphasizes start-up/testing/commissioning, clear customer communication, thorough documentation, teamwork with installation teams, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling) is required.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of hands‑on HVAC experience with start‑up/commissioning/installation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems, and control systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment used for HVAC start‑ups and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, testing, and commissioning of newly installed HVAC equipment.
• Explain system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting steps to customers.
• Document service activities with performance checks and settings.
• Collaborate with installation teams, project managers, and customer service.
• Follow safety guidelines and industry regulations; conduct safety checks.
