Job summary

HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician I to install, commission, and troubleshoot new HVAC systems. You will calibrate equipment, verify performance, and ensure compliance with safety standards while guiding customers through system operation.

In this role, you will work across installations, coordinate with project teams, and contribute to safe, efficient start-ups with opportunities for growth toward lead technician roles. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• EPA 608 certification is required.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, with a focus on start-ups, commissioning, or installation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems, and control systems.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles.
• Good communication and documentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and calibration of HVAC equipment, including air conditioning and heating systems.
• Test units to ensure operation per manufacturer specs and local codes; troubleshoot issues.
• Commission systems, ensuring proper connections and controls for efficiency.
• Explain operation and maintenance to customers; document service activities and updates.
• Collaborate with installation teams, project managers, and customer service to meet timelines.
• Follow safety guidelines and conduct safety checks throughout service processes.
• Assist junior technicians and participate in training as needed.
