Job summary

Trane Technologies in Maitland, FL is hiring a Service Estimator to join our team and support Account Managers and building owners with estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and service agreements. You will prepare cost estimates covering materials, labor, subcontractors, equipment, and scope, and negotiate prices with vendors to protect margins.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of related experience or an engineering/technician background, strong analytical skills, and a valid

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology or related field with 3–5 years' related experience.
Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience prioritized.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and related construction.
Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
Valid driver's license with clean record over past 3 years.

Responsibilities

Create quotes for service agreements and all quoted works in support of Service Account Managers.
Prepare cost estimates including materials, subcontractors, labor, and equipment.
Develops detailed scope based on design-build scope.
Create detailed cost estimates with sketches, scope definitions, and vendor quotes.
Identify possible cost saving opportunities and risk items.
Negotiate prices with vendors/sub-contractors to optimize costs.
Participate in pre-job meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
