Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Service Estimator to join our team in Atlanta, GA. You will prepare quotes for service maintenance agreements and repairs, building detailed cost estimates that cover materials, labor, and subcontractors.

Collaborating with Account Managers, you will define project scope, assess risks, and seek cost-saving opportunities while ensuring bids are competitive and on time. A relevant engineering background and HVAC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study with 3–5 years’ experience, or a technical certificate with 5 years’ experience.
• Experience with construction including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems preferred.
• Financial and business acumen with history of delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends; valid driver's license without major violations in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Create quotes for service maintenance agreements and all service repairs.
• Produce cost estimates including materials, sub-contractors, labor, and other construction-related tasks.
• Develop detailed scope, define exclusions, and prepare prelim proposals with vendor quotes.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and assess risks on projects.
• Define scope of work for sub-contractors and negotiate prices to optimize costs.
• Hold pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
• Support lean improvements initiatives.
