Job summary

Mechanical Concepts LLC is seeking a Service Estimator to prepare accurate, timely estimates for commercial HVAC service repairs, maintenance, equipment replacements, and small projects. You will work with Service Managers, technicians, vendors, and customers to develop technically sound proposals that support satisfaction and profitability.

The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical service, estimating, or related field.
• Ability to read equipment specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong math, analytical, communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Experience with estimating/service management software preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review technician recommendations and inspection reports to develop repair and replacement estimates.
• Prepare detailed proposals for service repairs, equipment replacements, and small mechanical projects.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and availability.
• Ensure estimates meet pricing standards and profitability objectives.
• Collaborate with Service Managers and field personnel to clarify scope and solutions.
• Maintain accurate estimating records within company software.
• Follow up on outstanding proposals and assist with approvals.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating efficiency and consistency.
