Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician to install, calibrate, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems across multiple facilities in the Hilton Head Island area. You will lead field teams, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with managers to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires state certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read schematics. On-call rotation is part of the job, with on-site work and OSHA/EPA compliance obligations.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification with 2 years in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal refrigerant handling certification.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems per plans and codes.
• Calibrates low ambient systems and direct digital controls.
• Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues on commercial systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Repairs supermarket refrigeration units and related rack systems.
• Operates and maintains Energy Management Systems and coordinates maintenance.
