Job summary

Walmart Tyler, TX is seeking an HVAC/R technician to install and service commercial systems, including ductwork and controls, with emphasis on safety and compliance. You will diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant systems and participate in preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires EPA refrigerant handling certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains EPA Type I and II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC‑R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Maintains and repairs supermarket refrigeration units and energy management systems.
• Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
• Leads field teams and mentors Apprentices on technical procedures and safety practices.
