Job summary

Ambient Enterprises seeks an Application Engineer focused on pre-sale activities to design, select, and estimate HVAC systems for diverse healthcare, commercial, institutional, and mission-critical projects.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and clients to deliver accurate proposals and scalable solutions, while staying current on HVAC technologies and industry standards. Strong communication and multi-project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of HVAC engineering experience with a focus on pre-sale activities such as estimating, system selection, and preparing technical scopes.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and applications (heating, cooling, ventilation, A/C).
• Familiarity with HVAC industry standards, energy codes, and building regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sale support and technical consultation; guide customers on HVAC system designs and equipment selections.
• Estimate HVAC system costs and develop competitive proposals within project budgets.
• Evaluate customer needs and design HVAC systems; prepare scope of work documents.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals and specifications; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Sales for smooth proposal-to-project transition.
• Respond to inquiries, provide application guidance, and build strong customer relationships.
