Job summary

Your Talent Team seeks a seasoned General Manager to lead our HVAC/plumbing division, driving operational excellence and growth. You will own P&L, optimize dispatch and field workflows, and guide a team of plumbers, apprentices, and office staff to deliver exceptional service.

You will develop sales strategies to expand maintenance contracts and residential programs, maintain safety compliance, and build strong customer relations while scaling profitability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in managing projects in construction; or bachelor’s degree in construction science or related fields; or an equivalent certification combined with experience, and education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and work experience in HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License with clean DMV record.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Typing skills with proficiency in Office and Excel.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and managing situations.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required.
• Familiarity with job costing, scheduling, and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• P&L Ownership: Manage the division's budget, track labor and material costs, and implement strategic pricing to hit gross profit targets.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor plumbers, apprentices, and office staff; foster accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee dispatching, scheduling, and workflows to maximize technician efficiency and minimize call-backs.
• Business Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand maintenance contracts and residential programs, increasing market share.
• Customer Relations: Act as the final escalation point for inquiries and disputes to protect brand reputation.
