Job summary

Sinclair Community College seeks an Architecture and Construction Adjunct Faculty member for the Dayton campus. This part-time role involves teaching courses from the Architectural Technology program with hands-on and theoretical instruction.

The starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Applicants must reside in OH, IN, or KY or be able to work in one of these states. Official transcripts and background checks are required prior to hire.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction, or related field required; master’s degree preferred; or must meet Tested Experience requirements.
Tested Experience: associate’s degree plus a recognized certification/license required.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and/or Microsoft Project preferred.

Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
Use appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology.
Modify methods to meet diverse student needs.
Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
Maintain accurate records of student progress.
Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.

Position Summary

The SinclairArchitectural Technology Program features courses inarchitectural construction, architectural drafting, estimating,mechanics of materials, design of reinforced concrete, and fireprevention fundamentals, to name a few. Our state-of-the-artfacilities and equipment give students the opportunity to gainhands-on, practical experience.

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hourassigned to teach.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment

Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate

Maintain accurate records of student progress
Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction,or related field required; master’s degree in architecture,construction, or related field preferred; OR must meet the specificrequirements associated with Tested Experience
Tested Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in the discipline requiredAND
- Possession of a widely accepted certification or licenserecognized in the industry required
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and/or Microsoft Projectpreferred
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
Must be able to teach face-to-face CCP classes at Stebbins HighSchool
