Johnson Barrow in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an Outside Sales Engineer to drive growth and build relationships with engineers, contractors, and building owners. You will apply HVAC product knowledge to identify opportunities, manage sales processes, and deliver strong customer support across the Northwest region.

A mechanical engineering background and several years of HVAC sales or design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Three years of direct HVAC sales or design experience
• Three years of business development and relationship management within the HVAC industry
• Three years of sales and marketing experience presenting HVAC equipment solutions to contractors and engineers
• Five years’ experience using Windows for selection, pricing, submittals, and billing HVAC projects

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, contractors, and end-users.
• Identify opportunities with new and existing customers using HVAC knowledge.
• Drive annual sales growth and secure long-term opportunities in the Northwest.
• Provide technical expertise on system design, product selection, and specification writing.
• Prepare detailed proposals, estimates, and take-offs tailored to customer needs.
• Manage projects from design through commissioning, ensuring quality and satisfaction.
• Facilitate communication between branch staff, customers, and partners.
• Analyze feasibility assessments and bid documents for potential projects.
• Maintain and expand your HVAC product knowledge.
• Deliver high standards of customer support throughout the sales cycle.
