Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a seasoned field service supervisor/engineer to supervise and train field teams, perform advanced troubleshooting on mechanical cooling and temperature control systems, and lead turnkey projects within a defined service center territory. The role involves client interfacing and business development.

The candidate should possess HVAC technical training or equivalent, with extensive field experience and strong knowledge of safety standards and electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• HVAC knowledge from technical school, apprenticeship or equivalent with extensive field experience.
• High school or equivalent with extensive field experience acceptable.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration, electrical systems and temperature controls.
• Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA safety standards.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and hydronic diagrams.
• Ability to provide technical assistance via telephone to customers.
• Experience presenting as an expert to clients.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service engineers and technicians in the area.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and inspections on HVAC systems.
• Lead large projects including data center cooling installations and turnkey projects.
• Develop tests and inspections for new service areas.
• Handle job estimating, proposals, scheduling, reports and manpower planning.
• Prepare detailed reports and process job billing.
• Engage in client interfaces and business development activities.
