Job summary

IES Residential is seeking an HVAC Designer to support project design and coordination. You will prepare layouts, review plans, and maintain accurate project records while working with project managers, internal teams, vendors, and customers to keep projects on schedule.

You will coordinate design requirements, update approvals, and help resolve design concerns, ensuring compliance with company standards and processes. On-site collaboration and attentive communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in drafting, design, administration, or project coordination preferred.
• HVAC construction, operations, or design experience is a plus.
• Basic drafting/design software knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, schedules, and specs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop HVAC design knowledge.
• Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus where required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update HVAC project layouts, designs, and related documentation.
• Review plans, specifications, and project information for accuracy.
• Coordinate design requirements, updates, approvals, and timelines with partners.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation in company systems.
• Support project managers with design-related administrative tasks.
• Identify and help resolve design concerns in a timely manner.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
