Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree aligned with Southland needs: Mechanical Engineering. Completion of Thermodynamics and HVAC Design courses is highly desirable.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and drive to complete tasks with quality.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability in a classroom-to-field environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers in design tasks as required.
• Perform basic deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Do basic calculations (loads, equipment sizing, pipe/duct sizing, friction loss).
• Coordinate design with project management, architects, and other trades through completion.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
• Review codes and field conditions to support design.
