Southland Industries invites you to join its Internship and New College Graduate program for immersive hands-on experience in Design Engineering for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection.

You will assist Senior Engineers, perform basic calculations, drafting, and coordinate with project teams, gaining exposure to real projects. Successful interns often transition to full-time roles and advance with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree aligned with Southland needs in Mechanical Engineering; HVAC exposure is desired.
• Strong work ethic and proactive mindset are required.
• Clear communication and collaborative teamwork are essential.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers with design tasks as required.
• Perform basic deliverables: calculations, drawings, specs for HVAC systems.
• Conduct basic heating/cooling load, equipment sizing, and duct/pipe sizing calculations.
• Coordinate design with project management, architects, and other trades.
• Support and review CADD drafting work.
• Assess codes and field conditions to support design work.
