Job summary

Johnstone Supply is hiring a Counter Sales Associate I to support HVAC/R product needs both in-store and by phone. You will provide information, technical support, and order processing with a focus on customer satisfaction and store profitability.

You will greet customers, help with product selections, process quotes, and coordinate parts availability across branches. Strong communication and basic math are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1+ years of wholesale/retail experience or equivalent.
• Front-line customer service experience required.
• English proficiency required for safety, communications, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in-store and by phone, building rapport and addressing needs.
• Help customers select products; ask questions and listen to identify requirements.
• Recommends and orders products; locates items and suggests substitutes or promotions.
• Researches products using POS, catalogs, websites, and vendor contacts; coordinates cross-branch transfers.
• Process quotes, warranties, returns, and order paperwork; balance cash and handle transactions.
• Maintain showroom cleanliness and stock levels; assist in inventory counts and pricing compliance.
