R.E. Michel Company is seeking an entry-level Counter Sales associate in Jackson, MS. Responsibilities include answering calls, assisting customers, processing orders and invoices, loading deliveries, and representing the branch with a customer-first approach.

You will use the Prophet 21 system for order entry, handle payments, and ensure items are billed and shipped accurately. The role involves some warehouse duties and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of HVACR products and parts is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication with customers and the public.
• Strong attitude and interpersonal skills to serve customers in person, by phone, or on site.
• Proficiency with computer systems including order entry and invoicing.
• Basic math skills; understand markup vs gross margin impact on sales.
• Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers and descriptions to identify items.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly customer service in person or by phone.
• Greet customers and maintain a positive branch presence.
• Enter customer orders in the system the same day they are received.
• Pull orders from warehouse and assist loading or staging for pickup.
• Prepare invoices, CODs, special orders and shipping/receiving paperwork.
• Process payments via cash or card and follow money-handling procedures.
• Handle returns and warranty service on the same day as received.
• Restock and maintain clean, organized self-service areas and displays.
