Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. in Anchorage is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician II to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specs. You will install, commission, and support service activities while mentoring apprentices on site.

The role requires experience with building automation, strong problem-solving and customer-service skills. You will work on diverse projects, manage start-up tasks, and contribute to project documentation and energy management efforts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of computer/electronic degree and 1 year temperature control system startup, checkout, and service experience or 3-5 years temperature control system startup, checkout, and service experience
• Proficient programming and troubleshooting with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell and other equivalent systems
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications

Responsibilities

• Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers recommendations
• Perform calibration and checkout of control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met
• Create control graphics for projects and provide labor and expertise for GUI delivery per LONG standards
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems
• Provide guidance for updating drawings and keeping equipment records for as-built documentation
• Support service sales manager by identifying additional sales potential and assisting with start-up and owner training tasks
• Mentor controls apprentices on jobsites and help lead project tasks
• Work independently to complete a variety of required tasks on the jobsite
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may occur during project sequences
