Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. seeks an HVAC Controls Technician II to troubleshoot and program commercial temperature control systems in Fairbanks. You will install, commission, and mentor apprentices while providing expert industry knowledge and on-site support.

Responsibilities include programming databases, calibrating systems, and delivering graphical interfaces in line with LONG standards. Strong startup experience and HVAC knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of tech/engineering degree plus 1 year startup/service experience or 3–5 years startup/service experience.
• Proficient in programming and troubleshooting with major systems (KMC, Distech, Tridium, Honeywell).
• Strong analytical skills for software/integration challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specs.
• Extensive HVAC, building automation, and electrical systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for control systems per sequences of operation.
• Calibrate and check-out control systems to meet commissioning requirements.
• Create control graphics and GUI labor for projects as per LONG standards.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of systems.
• Update drawings and maintain as-built documentation; submit redlines.
