Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician I (DDC/BAS) in Fairbanks to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specs. You will install, warranty, and perform emergency procedures as part of commercial HVAC services.

The role requires 1 year of start-up/service experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with multiple control systems. A company vehicle may be required for travel between sites and service calls.

Qualifications

• 1 year temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience.
• Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
• High aptitude for computer systems or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
• Programming and troubleshooting skills with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
• Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for supported systems to match sequences of operation and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Calibrate and check-out control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met.
• Create control graphics and provide GUIs per LONG standards and documents.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems.
• Update drawings and keep records of equipment for as-built documentation (submit redlines).
• Advise service sales manager of additional sales potential and solicit service contracts while performing startup, commissioning, and owner training.
• Other duties as assigned.
