Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. seeks an HVAC Controls Technician II in Anchorage to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specifications, and to handle installation, warranty, and emergency procedures.

The role includes mentoring apprentice technicians and providing expert information on industry tasks. You will calibrate systems, create control graphics, interpret mechanical plans, and assist on projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of computer/electronic technical degree and 1 year temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 3-5 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience
• Proficient programming and troubleshooting with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell and other systems
• Strong analytical skills for software and integration challenges
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation and energy management

Responsibilities

• Program databases to meet sequences of operation and manufacturer recommendations
• Calibrate and check-out control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met
• Create control graphics and deliver GUIs per LONG standards
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems
• Update drawings and maintain records for as-built documentation
• Identify additional sales potential and pursue service contracts during start-up and owner training
• Provide guidance to controls apprentices on jobsites
• Work independently to complete tasks on the jobsite
• Troubleshoot and resolve project issues
• Other duties as assigned
