Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Team Lead to guide daily field activities and develop a team of technicians. You will ensure safe, efficient installation, commissioning, and service delivery for building automation projects.

You will work with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to meet project goals, while mentoring staff and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Automation, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant HVAC controls, building automation, or service delivery experience.
• Experience leading field activities and coordinating technical work in a customer-facing environment.
• Knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–6 Controls Systems Technicians in field work across installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, validation, and service.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor work to support project schedules and service commitments.
• Provide coaching and development support to technicians for technical and customer service skills.
• Support diagnosis and resolution of complex control systems issues (hardware, software, networks).
• Coordinate field execution with project managers, customers, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.
• Review project requirements and provide technical direction to meet design intent.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Support O&M activities and ongoing customer site requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with customers on status and performance.
• Complete project documentation and commissioning/service reports accurately.
