Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Team Lead to guide daily field activities, support project execution, and develop the capabilities of a 3–6 technician team across installation, commissioning, startup, and service.

This role emphasizes safety, customer-focused results, and cross-training within a collaborative environment that values wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 6 years HVAC controls/building automation experience.
• Experience leading field activities in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–6 Controls Systems Technicians across installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, validation, and service activities.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor work to support project schedules and service commitments.
• Provide coaching and development support to grow technicians' technical and customer service skills.
• Support diagnosis and resolution of complex issues involving controls hardware, software, networks, and system integration.
• Coordinate field execution with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure successful delivery.
• Review project requirements and provide technical direction to align with design intent.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and field execution activities.
• Support O&M activities and ongoing customer site requirements as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with customers regarding project status and system performance.
• Complete project documentation, commissioning reports, and service records accurately and on time.
• Promote a strong safety culture and compliance with safety requirements.
