Johnson Controls, Inc. in Baton Rouge seeks an HVAC Controls Team Lead to guide a field team through installation, commissioning, startup, and service.

You will collaborate with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant building automation projects. The role requires strong leadership, HVAC/building automation expertise, and the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Automation, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC controls, building automation systems, or project delivery.
• Experience leading field activities and coordinating technical work in a customer-facing environment.
• Knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and system commissioning.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field team of 3–6 Controls Systems Technicians across installation, commissioning, startup, and service.
• Coordinate field execution with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Provide coaching and development support to technicians to grow skills and customer service.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving controls hardware, software, networks, and integration.
• Ensure project requirements and design intent are met and documented on time.
