Responsibilities
- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls problems
- Respond to basic warranty calls and provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service
How You Will Do It
- Load system‑level controller software
- Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators)
- Complete all required commissioning documentation
- Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
- Complete administrative tasks, including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation
- Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training; maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities and quotes to support recommendations
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical aptitude
- Ability to use hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws)
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Depending on location, mounting and termination of low voltage devices may require special licensing requirements
- Preferred: Two years’ experience installing electronic and/or mechanical systems
- Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems
Compensation
Hourly range: $23–$28, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and market data alignment.
