Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. in Asheville, NC is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and tools, and to provide excellent on-site service.

You will troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical and electrical issues, respond to warranty calls, and communicate progress clearly to customers while maintaining safety standards and proper documentation.

What you will do

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls.
• Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

• Load system‑level controller software.
• Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
• Keep management and JCI contractors or customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
• Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
• Maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

• Depending on location, mounting and termination of low‑voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.
• Preferred: Two years’ experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems.

Compensation

Hourly range: $23–$28. The rate is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range is the target compensation; exceptional candidates may present unique skills that exceed the typical profile.
