Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Automation Engineer to perform master systems integration of BMS, build control databases, create interfaces, and set up control systems per project specs and proposals.

The role includes on-site and remote tech support, field startup, and commissioning tasks, with up to 50% travel. A US work authorization is required; a degree in HVAC/electrical/ME/software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequences of operations and panel layouts.
• Perform programming of control applications using various software tools.
• Perform job-site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Confirm proper operation according to project specifications, sales proposal, and design documentation.
• Approve and develop system graphic displays, according to project specifications or sales proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Perform multifaceted system evaluation and diagnostics.
• Isolate and troubleshoot escalated problems and take corrective action.
• Document problem resolution and report findings to the Project team for customer follow-up.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
