Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Automation Engineer to perform Master Systems Integration of BMS, build control databases, and create user interfaces in line with project specifications. The role includes on-site and remote support, field startup, and commissioning tasks for enterprise clients.

The position is part of the Software Engineering function and requires up to 50% travel, with a salary range of $80,000–$95,000 annually and opportunities for growth based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Must possess core knowledge in Building Management Systems, Niagara, Distech Controls, BACnet/Modbus, HVAC Controls, IT Networking, Commissioning, Troubleshooting.
• Travel requirement up to 50% of annual time, overnight trips up to a week.

Responsibilities

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequences of operations and panel layouts.
• Perform programming of control applications using various software tools.
• Perform job-site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Confirm proper operation according to project specifications, sales proposal, and design documentation.
• Approve and develop system graphic displays according to project specifications or sales proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Perform multifaceted system evaluation and diagnostics.
• Isolate and troubleshoot escalated problems and take corrective action.
• Document problem resolution and report findings to Project team.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
