Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Project Manager to lead on-site projects from kickoff through commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in building automation.

You will design and program HVAC control systems, coordinate field activities, manage costs and schedules, and train owners on operation. A technical degree and hands-on HVAC experience are required or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field plus 4 years of related field experience, or 6 years of equivalent hands-on experience in HVAC / Building Automation.
• Strong experience with system design, programming, and commissioning of digital HVAC controls.
• Solid understanding of control theory and building automation systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects with confidence.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and related applications.
• Working knowledge of project costing, accounting principles, and contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of control systems projects for assigned customers.
• Design system hardware, develop control programming, and coordinate installation activities.
• Direct system and network commissioning, validation, and project closeout.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to subcontractors, technicians, designers, and installers.
• Act as the primary customer contact and maintain clear, proactive communication throughout the project.
