Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Project Manager to lead controls and building automation projects from planning through commissioning and closeout. You will coordinate customer communication, field execution, and project financial performance on site in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• Technical associate degree with two years of field experience, or four years of equivalent related field experience.
• Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.
• Experience managing projects related to mechanical systems and building automation systems.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong PC skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Project; Adobe Writer, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned HVAC controls projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate hardware design, system programming, installation, commissioning, and warranty handoff.
• Manage project financial performance, costs, billings, and profitability.
• Maintain regular customer communication and resolve issues promptly.
• Review scope changes and pursue change orders as needed.
• Coordinate material selection, ordering, delivery, and vendor pricing.
• Provide jobsite coordination for panel and device locations to meet requirements.
• Direct subcontractors, installers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Support software loading, device verification, and system validation.
• Create as-built, commissioning, billing, training, and closeout documentation.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and subcontractors.
• Deliver site-specific training and ensure manuals and system docs are provided.
• Ensure safety and ethics compliance on the job.
