Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Controls Specialist to monitor and optimize HVAC and building automation systems, driving energy efficiency and reliability across facilities. The role involves upgrades, programming, troubleshooting, and supporting the energy management program.

The successful candidate will lead system upgrades, assist in monitoring energy performance, and develop in-house training to enable self-sufficiency in building automation services.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associates degree in a technical field with equivalent experience.
• 5 years experience in HVAC and building automation installation and service or equivalent experience.
• HVAC and building automation systems experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
• Strong spreadsheet skills.
• Experience with working with unionized workforce.
• Knowledge of Alerton and Automated Logic Corp. systems a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize HVAC and building automation systems to minimize energy use while maintaining comfort and safety.
• Upgrade HVAC controls programming and user interfaces; support energy management initiatives.
• Maintain and upgrade building automation system servers, network hardware, and databases; perform software/firmware upgrades.
• Troubleshoot building automation systems; conduct field surveys of mechanical rooms to ensure efficient operation.
• Develop and deliver in-house training to enable self-sufficiency in system service and installation.
• Support commissioning processes for MEP systems and participate in alarm reduction programs.
